In a recent interview on Elon Musk’s platform, X, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested that President Biden’s removal from the Democratic ticket was a “coup.” The discussion, which faced a 40-minute delay due to technical issues, was marked by Trump’s usual mix of controversial statements and praise for authoritarian leaders such as Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un, as per the media reports.
Musk, who has publicly endorsed Trump, claimed that the delay was due to a distributed denial-of-service attack, although this was not independently verified. The conversation, which attracted over 1.3 million listeners, provided Trump an opportunity to criticize his Democratic opponents, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently replaced Biden as the Democratic candidate. Despite the technical difficulties, Trump commended Musk for the high level of engagement, turning the glitch into a positive talking point.
