The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the graft case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The case is now scheduled for a hearing on August 23. A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan issued a notice to the CBI to file a reply regarding Kejriwal’s petition for bail and another challenging his arrest by the central agency, The Indian Express reported. Senior advocate A M Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, urged the court for interim bail, but the bench declined. “We are not granting any interim bail,” stated Justice Kant.
