Saif’s attacker was wrestler from Bangladesh:Reports

Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, who attacked Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has been identified as a national-level wrestler from Bangladesh. Shehzad, who was arrested in Thane on January 19, reportedly told officers he had competed in wrestling at both district and national levels in his home country, according to media reports.

In a startling revelation, police also disclosed that four male domestic helper were present during the attack on Saif but failed to intervene. According to Police, it was only Saif who fought off Shehzad. Had the others intervened, they could have easily overpowered the attacker.

Further details of the attack have also emerged. Police said that Shehzad made his way up to the seventh or eighth floor of the building, and then entered the duct area. He climbed up to the 12th floor using a pipe before breaking into the actor’s flat through a bathroom window. It was in the bathroom that he was spotted by Saif’s staff, which led to the confrontation.

The incident took place in the early morning of Thursday when Khan’s nanny, Eliyama Philip, encountered the armed intruder around 2 a.m. As the intruder demanded ₹1 crore, Philip intervened but was injured on her wrist by the attacker, who wielded a Hexa blade and wooden stick. Khan sustained six injuries, including two deep wounds near his spinal cord, as he tried to protect his family.CCTV footage shows the suspect entering the building at 1:37 a.m. and fleeing around 2:33 a.m. Mumbai Police, including the Crime Branch, have launched an extensive investigation into the matter, treating it as a case of dacoity and trespassing. More than 30 statements have been recorded, and CCTV footage has been seized from the area.

While many have speculated on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s whereabouts during the attack, the actress told the police that she had ensured the safety of her family while Saif fought off the intruder. She moved the women and children to a safer location on the 12th floor of the building during the attack.

Bhajan Singh Rana, an auto-rickshaw driver, shared that he took Khan to Lilavati Hospital, unknowingly assisting the actor as he was bleeding heavily from his neck and back. It was only after the trip that Rana realized he had helped the Bollywood star. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan remains hospitalized following two surgeries after being stabbed during a burglary attempt at his Bandra residence.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue to piece together the events surrounding the attack.
