In a significant blow to cross-border narcotic networks, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have busted an international drug racket, seizing 10 kg of heroin and apprehending four individuals, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Drones were used to smuggle drugs from Pakistan, and the accused were connected to Pakistan-based smugglers. Earlier, one individual was caught with 1 kg of heroin and ₹4 lakh in drug money,” the DGP said. He reaffirmed that Punjab Police is committed to making the state drug-free, following the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
