Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday dedicated the newly completed Water Supply Scheme and Sewerage projects in Abohar, marking a significant infrastructure milestone for the city. Developed at a cost of Rs 119.16 crore, the projects aim to provide reliable, sustainable access to clean water for approximately 1.5 lakh residents.
The Water Supply Scheme, with a capacity of 3.50 MGD, will provide canal water to the city’s population. CM Mann emphasized the importance of these developments in ensuring a steady water supply and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving civic amenities.
The Water Supply Project, costing Rs 27.06 crore, is designed to serve 100 percent of Abohar’s population in its first phase. The Sewerage Project, valued at Rs 92.10 crore, will also cover the entire city in its first phase. Mann stated that these projects will drive growth and prosperity in the border region, with Abohar set to benefit the most.
