Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was discharged from Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Sunday after being diagnosed with leptospirosis, a bacterial infection. Mann had been admitted with symptoms of tropical fever, but doctors confirmed on Saturday that he had responded well to antibiotics, with his vital signs stable.
Dr. R.K. Jaswal, Director and Head of Cardiology at the hospital, yesterday said that Mann’s clinical parameters have shown significant improvement. Dr Jaswal also said that his vitals are completely stable, and he has responded well to treatment, particularly for elevated pulmonary artery pressure. He added that the blood tests confirmed leptospirosis, and Mann continues to receive appropriate antibiotic treatment According to the hospital, all clinical and pathological tests indicate satisfactory progress.
