Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the people of Haryana on Tuesday for breaking the state’s electoral tradition by granting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a third consecutive term. Modi attributed the historic win to the people’s faith in development and good governance, rejecting falsehoods and divisive politics.

Addressing the BJP workers, Modi highlighted that while Haryana has historically changed governments every five years, this time voters made the unprecedented decision to allow the BJP to continue its work. He emphasized that this victory reflects the triumph of “vikas” (development) over lies.

Modi criticized the Congress party for attempting to destabilize the nation by inciting social unrest, especially during the farmer protests. He accused Congress of fueling caste-based conflicts and spreading anarchy, while asserting that the BJP stands for unity and progress.

The Prime Minister also reflected on the recent peaceful elections in Jammu and Kashmir, calling them a historic achievement and a testament to India’s democratic strength.
