New Delhi, December 13
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the fourth National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi on December 14-15. The event aims to further strengthen cooperation between the Centre and state governments, promoting faster growth and development through enhanced coordination.
The conference, a key initiative for strengthening cooperative federalism, will focus on implementing a common development agenda. It follows three previous annual conferences, starting in June 2022 at Dharamshala, with the latest held in December 2023.
The upcoming conference will emphasize promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing skills, and creating sustainable employment opportunities, with a focus on both rural and urban populations. Special discussions will cover manufacturing, services, rural non-farm sectors, renewable energy, circular economy, and urban development.
Four special sessions will address frontier technology, economic reforms, capacity building through Mission Karmayogi, and developing cities as economic hubs. Key deliberations will also focus on agriculture, care for the ageing population, and energy initiatives. State best practices will be shared to encourage cross-learning among participants, including chief secretaries and senior officials from states and union territories.
