Prime Minister Modi shared insights from his recent visit to Ukraine and emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and genuine engagement among all stakeholders to achieve a lasting and peaceful resolution. The leaders agreed to stay in regular contact.
The Prime Minister reflected on his successful visit to Russia last month, where he participated in the 22nd India-Russia Bilateral Summit. During their discussion, the two leaders reviewed the progress on various bilateral issues and explored ways to further strengthen the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia. They also shared their perspectives on a range of regional and global matters of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to US President Joe Biden and briefed him on his visit to Ukraine and discussed the Bangladesh situation and emphasised the need for early restoration of normalcy and ensuring the safety of Hindus there.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Modi received a telephone call from US President Joseph R. Biden. PM conveyed his appreciation for President Biden’s deep commitment the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership, which is based on shared values of democracy, rule of law and strong people-to-people ties. The leaders reviewed the significant progress in bilateral relations and highlighted that India-US partnership is aimed at benefiting the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity.
The two leaders had a detailed exchange of views on a number of regional and global issues. In an official statement the Indian government said that while discussing the situation in Ukraine, PM Modi briefed President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine. He reiterated India’s consistent position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy and expressed full support for early return of peace and stability.
The two leaders expressed their shared concern over the situation in Bangladesh. They emphasised restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad.
