Piyush Goyal urges industry to harness Rs 1 lakh crore ANRF fund for Innovation

Union Commerce and  Industry Minister Piyush Goyal called on industry leaders to utilise Rs 1 lakh crore allocated under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to foster innovation and create a research-driven ecosystem in India. Addressing the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and  Industry’s (FICCI) 97th Annual General Meeting, Goyal highlighted the need for private sector participation in building strong industry-academia-government collaborations.

The Union  Minister emphasized simplifying funding processes for better outcomes and urged industries to align their efforts with government initiatives like Digital India, Ayushman Bharat, and Swachh Bharat Mission. He commended FICCI for its focus on cleanliness in industrial parks as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Goyal also encouraged industries to support the government’s efforts to reduce compliance burdens and enhance Ease of Doing Business. He stressed the importance of raising quality standards to position India as a trusted global supplier and key growth engine for the Global South under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
