In addition to it, in a significant breakthrough in the fight against Khalistani terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Baljeet Singh, a close associate of Khalistan Terrorist Force (KTF) operative Arshdeep Singh Dala. Singh was apprehended upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport from the UAE, where he had been evading authorities.
Baljeet Singh, a resident of Bathinda s, Punjab, has been wanted for his involvement in the activities of the KTF, a proscribed terrorist organization. Earlier this year, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him, and a non-bailable warrant had been pending since June 2024. His capture marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks linked to Khalistani extremism.
According to NIA investigations, Singh played a critical role in providing logistical support to the KTF. He is also accused of coordinating extortion targets, recruiting new members, and facilitating the group’s activities aimed at raising funds through illegal means. The NIA has linked Singh to a broader conspiracy involving Arshdeep Singh Dala, targeting Punjab with terrorist activities.
The case against Singh, which was registered by the NIA in February 2024, outlines the KTF’s plans to raise funds through extortion, recruit fresh cadres, and smuggle arms and ammunition into India. His arrest is viewed as a crucial step in the Indian government’s efforts to curb the influence of Khalistani militants and disrupt their operations within the country.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities probing further into the network’s activities and its links to international terror funding and recruitment efforts.
