The 26-year-old Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra delivered a remarkable performance at the Lausanne Diamond League, securing second place with a season’s best throw of 89.49 m in his final attempt. The event was won by Grenada’s Anderson Peters, who threw 90.61 m in the second round, while Germany’s Julian Weber took third place with an 87.08 m throw.

“Chopra is currently tied for third in the Diamond League standings with Weber, each holding 15 points, while the Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch, who finished seventh, has 16 points. Reflecting on his performance, Chopra acknowledged his initial struggles but expressed satisfaction with his final throw,” reported Business Today.

“The feeling wasn’t great at first, but I’m happy with my throw, especially the second (career) best throw on my last attempt. It was a tough start, but the comeback was really nice and I enjoyed the fighting spirit I showed,” said Chopra. Neeraj needs to finish in the top six of the Diamond League standings to qualify for the season finale.
