Chandigarh, October 17
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and senior BJP leaders, along with chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, are set to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Haryana’s new Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Panchkula today. The Prime Minister is also expected to convene meeting of the chief minister from the BJP ruled states in Chandigarh.
Saini was unanimously elected as the legislative party leader on Wednesday during a meeting chaired by Home Minister Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The discussions also focused on forming a diverse Cabinet to represent Haryana’s demographic mix.
After his election, Saini expressed gratitude, calling it a “great honor” to serve Haryana’s 28 million residents. He praised Modi’s leadership, describing him as “the world’s most popular leader,” and vowed that the state would continue its development under the “double engine” government—central and state leadership working in unison.
Saini thanked Shah, Chouhan, and the BJP leadership for their support, pledging to prioritize governance, equality, and the welfare of the underprivileged. “I assure Prime Minister Modi and every Haryanavi that our government will work tirelessly to uplift the state,” Saini stated.
