Microsoft has announced the appointment of Carolina Dybeck Happe as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Reporting directly to CEO Satya Nadella, Dybeck Happe will be instrumental in advancing Microsoft’s AI-driven transformation and enhancing business processes across the company. She will also oversee key divisions, including commerce and ecosystems, digital IT, and business operations, the news outlet NewsX said.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Dybeck Happe served as Senior Vice President and CFO at General Electric (GE) from 2020 until September 2023, where she was pivotal in the company’s restructuring and spin-off strategy. Her career also includes significant roles at Maersk, where she led efforts to reduce debt and reshape the company’s portfolio, and at Assa Abloy, where she served as CFO and Deputy CEO for nearly 17 years, said news outlet the Times Now.
Dybeck Happe’s appointment marks a strategic move by Microsoft to strengthen its leadership team and align its operations with its focus on artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
