A recent study from Oxford University highlights that men should meet with friends at least twice a week to maintain optimal health. Professor Robin Dunbar, a psychologist and director of the university’s social and evolutionary neuroscience research group, emphasized the health benefits of regular social interactions, the news outlet Health Spirit Body reported.

The study found that men who engage in social activities are less likely to experience psychological issues, such as depression stemming from financial concerns and job insecurity. Additionally, those with strong social ties tend to recover more quickly from illnesses compared to those with limited social interactions.

“Bonds can be formed through various activities, from team sports to simply sharing a pint with friends. The key to maintaining strong friendships is to meet up twice a week and engage in activities with your closest companions,” Professor Dunbar stated, according to Health Spirit Body.

The findings also reveal that many men in the UK are not getting sufficient bonding time, with one in three unable to meet friends even once a week. Moreover, 40% of men can only arrange a “guys’ night” weekly, the news outlet further said.
