In a strong critique aimed at the Congress party, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar asserted that Congress had misled the public regarding the Constitution and had failed to uphold it in its true essence.
Speaking at the Dalit Samman Swabhiman Samaroh in Kurukshetra, an event organized by Dalit community leaders aligned with the BJP to rally support for the party in the upcoming Assembly elections, Khattar emphasized his point, The Tribune reported.
“Congress misled voters during the Lok Sabha elections, but we must remain vigilant against the misinformation spread by them. They have consistently disrespected the Constitution. Only the BJP can truly protect it,” Khattar declared.
He criticized past administrations for not providing opportunities even to capable individuals, contrasting this with the BJP’s efforts to reform the system. “Under previous governments, even talented individuals were denied job opportunities, but we have transformed that,” Khattar stated as per The Tribune.
He highlighted the BJP’s introduction of the Parivar Pehachan Patra, which collects data to identify and address the needs of the populace effectively. He also accused Congress of obstructing the voting process through booth capturing and spreading false claims about the BJP’s electoral strategies. “To boost voter turnout, we have requested the Election Commission to consider altering the polling date. Congress, however, is misleading the public by alleging that the BJP is trying to delay the elections,” Khattar said, urging citizens to exercise their right to vote.
Khattar also announced that the BJP plans to include a Unified Pension Scheme for government employees in its manifesto, assuring there will be no disparity between the old and new pension schemes.
Former Rajya Sabha member Dushyant Gautam criticized Congress for spreading falsehoods about the BJP’s stance on reservation and constitutional changes, accusing them of altering the Constitution themselves.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal cautioned against the opposition’s misinformation campaigns regarding SC/ST reservations, urging vigilance against such tactics. “They are exploiting the Constitution to spread false information,” Meghwal concluded.
