Jangi Thopan Powari hydro project to be handed over to state power corporation: HP Cabinet

The Himachal Cabinet on Friday approved the transfer of the 780 MW Jangi Thopan Powari Hydro Power Project to HP Power Corporation Ltd. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also announced the allotment of the 1630 MW Renukaji and 270 MW Thana Plaun Pump Storage Hydro Electric Projects to Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd.

Additionally, the Cabinet formed a subcommittee led by Health Minister Col. (Dr.) Dhani Ram Shandil, which includes Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, and Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma to recommend measures to strengthen Rogi Kalyan Samitis.

The Cabinet authorized the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog to announce the results for Post Codes 903 and 939, while keeping some posts vacant pending investigations. It elevated the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Solan as the apex body for school and teacher training, aiming to improve educational quality.

Furthermore, the Cabinet extended the ‘Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Rin Yojna’ benefits to eligible students seeking loans for professional courses abroad. It approved the establishment of 50-bedded Critical Care Blocks at Civil Hospitals in Dehra and Paonta Sahib and decided to fill 100 vacant posts for Assistant Forest Guards.

A new Police Station will be set up in Sissu, Lahaul-Spiti, along with various posts to ensure its functionality. Other decisions included filling positions in the Printing and Stationary Department, the Home Department, and enhancing the capabilities of the Forensics Services with six Mobile Forensic Vans.
