India values close cooperation of BRICS members: PM

In his departure statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday underscored India’s appreciation for the close cooperation within BRICS, noting its role as a vital forum for addressing global development, multilateral reforms, climate challenges, economic partnerships, resilient supply chains, and enhancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges. PM Modi is attending the 16th BRICS Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister said that BRICS’ expansion last year has enhanced its inclusivity, and the visit will strengthen India’s strategic partnership with Russia following the July 2024 summit in Moscow.
