MEA: Canada Failed to Act on India’s Request Against Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Members

New Delhi, October 17

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday that India has requested Canada to arrest members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, but no action has been taken. “We had shared some requests with the Canadian side for the arrest of those from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. They haven’t taken any action on our core concerns,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated.

The MEA also revealed that India has sent 26 extradition requests to Canada for wanted criminals, with no response so far. During the press conference, Jaiswal noted that CC1, linked to the Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun murder plot, is no longer an employee of the Indian government.

Additionally, the MEA confirmed a recent meeting between Indian and Canadian officials in Singapore to discuss these ongoing concerns. Jaiswal stated that Canada has yet to provide evidence regarding its allegations against India. He further dismissed reports of a cricket-related conversation between External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister in Islamabad.
