India has dismissed allegations made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a press conference on Monday, describing them as “the same old Trudeau” reiterating familiar claims for familiar reasons. Indian government sources asserted that Canada’s approach has been characterized by vague accusations that place the onus of denial on India.

“This is simply not true,” stated Indian officials in response to Trudeau’s remarks concerning alleged Indian involvement in the killing of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, and the supposed evidence provided to India.

Government sources emphasized that no specifics were given during the Canadian investigations, which included discussions about holding individuals accountable. However, the identity of those individuals and the nature of the alleged actions were never clarified, the sources noted, referencing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) press briefing on the matter.

“It is absurd that after engaging intensively with the High Commissioner over the last year, the Canadian government now chooses to target him,” Indian officials remarked regarding the Canadian leadership’s comments about India.

Canadian media reports indicate that agents of the Indian government have been connected to homicides, extortion, and various violent criminal activities within Canada, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). On Monday, the RCMP claimed to possess clear evidence linking Indian officials to these crimes but withheld specific details, citing the necessity of safeguarding ongoing investigations and court proceedings.
