A tragic accident in Gurugram on Sunday claimed the life of 23-year-old biker Akshat Garg, who collided with an SUV traveling on the wrong side of Golf Course Road in DLF Phase II. The incident, captured by a GoPro on his friend’s bike, shows Akshat, a resident of Dwarka, Delhi, wearing a helmet and gloves when a Mahindra XUV 3XO suddenly struck him head-on. The force of the collision threw him behind the vehicle, and despite a swift ambulance response, he could not be saved, the NDTV reported.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Kuldeep Kumar Thakur, a social media manager, was arrested but released on bail shortly thereafter. Akshat’s mother expressed outrage at the bail decision, demanding justice for her son and criticizing the police’s handling of the situation. Notably, the SUV was registered to Gaurav Gautam, a BJP candidate from Palwal. Gurugram police confirmed that an FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and pledged to take strict action against wrong-side driving, noting that over 16,000 challans were issued for this violation in August, according to the NDTV.
