Gautam Adani, 62, has claimed the top spot in the Hurun India Rich List 2024, overtaking Mukesh Ambani, who now holds the second position with a fortune of Rs 10.14 lakh crore. As per India Today, the list highlights India’s remarkable wealth creation, noting that the country now adds a billionaire every five days, with 1,539 individuals holding Rs 1,000 crore or more in 2024.
This year’s list also features prominent billionaires like Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies and Cyrus S. Poonawalla of Serum Institute of India. The cumulative wealth on the list surged by 46%, with the number of billionaires in India increasing by 75 to a total of 334. The Real Estate and Industrial Products sectors contributed the most new entrants, showcasing the dynamic spirit of Indian entrepreneurship.
