Envoys of six countries formally present credentials to President Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu on Monday accepted the credentials of ambassadors and high commissioners from six nations in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event marked an important step in India’s diplomatic engagements with Switzerland, Jordan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Myanmar, and Egypt.

The diplomats presenting their credentials included Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland; Yousef Mustafa Ali Abdel Ghani, Ambassador of Jordan; Vincent Sumale, High Commissioner of Papua New Guinea; Prof. Anil Sooklal, High Commissioner of South Africa; Zaw Oo, Ambassador of Myanmar; and Kamel Zayed Kamel Galal, Ambassador of Egypt.

During the ceremony, President Murmu welcomed the envoys and highlighted India’s commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relationships with their respective nations. She emphasized collaboration in areas such as trade, cultural exchange, and addressing global challenges like climate change and sustainable development.

The event underlined India’s proactive approach to international diplomacy and its readiness to engage in constructive dialogue to strengthen ties across diverse regions. The ambassadors and high commissioners expressed their countries’ intent to deepen their partnership with India, reinforcing mutual cooperation and shared goals.
