Former Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Mohammed Azharuddin has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with alleged Rs 20 crore financial irregularities in the HCA, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to media reports. The cricketer-turned-politician Azharuddin has requested more time to appear before the agency. The ED is investigating the case based on three FIRs and chargesheets filed by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which accuse Azharuddin of fund misappropriation. The ED conducted searches related to the case in November last year.
