Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, connecting New Delhi to Srinagar, in January 2025. Covering over 800 kilometers in less than 13 hours, the service aims to transform long-distance travel between the two cities.  Manufactured by BEML, the train will have limited stops at major stations, including Ambala, Jammu Tawi, and Katra. Ticket prices will start at Rs 2,000 for AC 3 Tier, Rs 2,500 for AC 2 Tier, and Rs 3,000 for AC First Class, promising a comfortable overnight journey, the news outlet Trak.in reported.

The train will operate on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), enhancing connectivity and boosting tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. As a modern addition to the Vande Bharat series, it is expected to set a new standard for rail travel in India, potentially paving the way for more sleeper services nationwide, according to the news outlet.
