Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated his commitment to a pollution-free biogas plant in the village of Ghungrali, Ludhiana district, during a meeting with residents and local leaders. A delegation led by newly elected Sarpanch Amritpal Singh thanked the Chief Minister for resolving concerns regarding the plant by engaging all stakeholders. Mann emphasized that the plant would adhere to strict environmental norms and that the government has a zero-tolerance policy towards pollution.
An oversight committee involving all stakeholders will monitor the project, with the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) overseeing the plant’s operations to ensure compliance. The Chief Minister vowed that violators would face stringent actions. Mann also commended the villagers for their positive cooperation, setting an example for public engagement. He announced plans for a sports nursery and a hi-tech library in the village, further underscoring the government’s commitment to local development.
