Chandigarh, 13 August

The Border Security Force (BSF) shot and killed a suspected Pakistani intruder attempting to cross into India at Punjab’s Tarn Taran border on Monday evening. The incident occurred amid heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day on August 15, as reported by the news outlet The Hindustan Times.

The intruder was spotted near the Dal village, advancing toward the border fence despite warnings from BSF personnel. Given the high alert, the BSF troops fired, neutralizing the threat. The BSF has maintained a high alert along the 553-km India-Pakistan border in Punjab since August 10.
