Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan on Wednesday, emphasized that ensuring peace and stability along the India-China border, while building mutual trust and respect, must remain top priorities.
Both leaders welcomed the recent agreement to fully disengage troops and resolve the 2020 border standoff. Modi emphasized that disputes must be handled carefully to prevent further tension. They agreed that Special Representatives on the boundary issue will meet soon to oversee the situation and pursue a fair resolution.

The two leaders underscored that stable India-China relations are crucial for regional and global peace, contributing to a multi-polar world. They called for enhanced strategic communication and cooperation to address common developmental challenges.
