The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Intensifies its attack on Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule and Congress leader Nana Patole, accusing them of involvement in an alleged Bitcoin scam. The allegations stem from claims by former IPS officer Ravindranath Patil, who accused the two leaders of using Bitcoin proceeds to fund elections in Maharashtra. Both Supriya Sule and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) chief Sharad Pawar have denied the allegations.
At a press conference, BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra released purported voice notes, which he claimed linked Sule and Patole to a conspiracy to convert Bitcoin proceeds into funds to influence the electoral process.
“If there is any biggest player in the game of loot and corruption in this country, then it is Sonia ji and Rahul ji,” Patra alleged. He demanded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi address the allegations and clarify whether he had instructed Patole regarding the matter.
Patra also questioned the alleged involvement of Sule in a transaction worth ₹235 crore originating from Dubai. “The way Supriya Sule is instructing not to play games and demanding immediate money raises serious questions. What is the reality behind this transaction?” Patra asked.
“There are four audio recordings involving Supriya Sule. Today, Supriya Sule claims these are AI-generated and not her voice. However, her own brother has reportedly stated that it is indeed her voice. The recordings clearly capture the instructions given by Supriya Sule. Moreover, Nana Patole’s involvement is also evident,” he alleged.
Ravindranath Patil, in an interview, claimed that Gaurav Mehta fears for his life, believing that once the Bitcoin wallet is emptied and the money is brought from Dubai to be handed over to Supriya Sule and Nana Patole, he might be eliminated, BJP spokesperson Patra alleged. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have not yet responded to the allegations. The story will be updated as and when their statements become available.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, addressing allegations of election manipulation involving cryptocurrency, said, “The audio clip in circulation will be examined, and the truth will come out.”
