India faced their first defeat in the group stage of the men’s hockey competition at the Paris Olympics on Thursday, falling 1-2 to reigning champions Belgium.
“Prior to this match, India had beaten New Zealand 3-2, drawn 1-1 with Argentina, and emerged victorious against Ireland with a 2-0 scoreline”, reported The Times of India. The Indian team will face Australia in their final pool match on Friday.
