Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday accused the coalition government of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren of safeguarding Bangladeshi infiltrators for vote bank purposes. “It is our resolve to protect our daughters, and land in Jharkhand. We will implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and expel infiltrators,” Chouhan said.
While talking to the media, BJP’s in-charge for Jharkhand assembly elections, Chouhan said that “We are fully dedicated to implementing the NRC in Jharkhand and ensuring that every infiltrator is identified and removed from the state.”
Chouhan also warned of a significant demographic shift in the state, particularly in the Santhal Pargana region, where he noted a decline in the tribal population from 44 percent to 28 percent, attributing this to the influx of Bangladeshi nationals.
