Audi Italy’s Director Fabrizio Longo dies in a tragic 10,000-foot fall while mountain climbing

Fabrizio Longo, the 62-year-old Director of Audi Italy, tragically died after falling 10,000 feet while mountain climbing near the Italian-Swiss border on Sunday. Despite using the necessary safety equipment, Longo fell during his climb, and emergency services were alerted by a fellow climber who witnessed the incident. A helicopter team later recovered his body, found lodged about 700 feet in a gorge, near the town of Carisolo. Local authorities have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances that led to this fatal accident.

Longo had a long-standing career in the automobile industry, beginning in 1987 with companies like Fiat and Lancia before joining Audi in 2012. Promoted to lead Audi’s Italian division in 2013, he was known for his strong values and dedication. An Audi representative described him as a person of great integrity and a source of unwavering support, highlighting his impact on creating a workplace filled with warmth and respect.
