Assamese actor Sumi Borah and her husband, photographer Tarkik Borah, have surrendered to the Dibrugarh Police after being on the run for 10 days. The couple is accused of being involved in a Rs 2,200-crore online trading scam, led by mastermind Bishal Phukan. Sumi, who allegedly received Rs 20 crore from Phukan, denied most allegations in a video before surrendering, stating she was a victim of harassment.

The scam involved Phukan and his associates, including the Borahs, luring investors with promises of 30% returns in two months by showcasing lavish lifestyles. Using their social media influence, the group allegedly duped over 1,500 investors. Phukan was arrested earlier this month, the ABP news reported.
