Ashok Tanwar joins Congress

In a significant political shift, BJP leader and member of the party’s campaign committee, Ashok Tanwar, has rejoined the Congress in the presence of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi. Tanwar, the former Haryana Congress president, had left the Aam Aadmi Party earlier and joined the BJP on January 20, seeking to expand the party’s Dalit support base in Haryana.

Addressing the crowd in poll-bound Haryana, which is set to vote on October 5 on this occassion, Rahul Gandhi said Congress will ensure a government that represents all segments of society. Rahul Gandhi urged the people of Haryana to vote for Congress, emphasizing that the party has been a consistent defender of the Constitution. Confident of a victory, Gandhi asserted that Congress would form a government focused on the needs of farmers, the poor, and laborers. He reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of the oppressed and marginalized.
