Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised the Congress party on Thursday, accusing it of aligning with Pakistan’s interests concerning Article 370 and 35A. Shah’s comments were in response to a statement by Pakistan’s Defence Minister, which he claims has exposed Congress’s true stance on Kashmir.
“The statement from Pakistan’s Defence Minister reveals that Congress and Pakistan share the same agenda on Article 370 and 35A,” Shah asserted. “This is not just a coincidence but a clear alignment in their intentions regarding Kashmir.”
Shah also took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he has supported anti-India forces over the years. “Rahul Gandhi has continuously sided with every force opposed to India, damaging the country’s sentiments,” Shah said. He accused Gandhi of questioning the legitimacy of Indian military operations, including air strikes and surgical strikes, suggesting that the Congress party’s and Pakistan’s criticisms of these actions are closely aligned.
According to Shah, Congress’s alignment with anti-national elements is evident, but he assured that the Modi government will not allow Article 370 or terrorism to return to the region. “The Congress and Pakistan may forget that the Modi Government is in power, and under our leadership, there will be no return of Article 370 or terrorism in Kashmir,” he said.
Shah also highlighted the substantial voter turnout in the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections as a sign of public rejection of parties supporting stone pelting and terrorism. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their trust in Modi’s vision for a secure and prosperous region,” he added, expressing gratitude to those who supported the electoral process.
