Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that the Modi government’s top priority is to resolve all issues related to the safety and security of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that any concerns would be promptly addressed. Shah highlighted Kishtwar’s immense potential for adventure tourism, mentioning concrete steps to promote activities like paragliding, river rafting, wellness, yoga centers, and pilgrimage tourism under the BJP government. “The people have decided to rebuild J&K by electing a BJP government under Modi Ji’s leadership,” he added.

Speaking at a public rally in Kishtwar, Shah emphasized that the National Conference-Congress alliance will not succeed in forming the government in J&K. He warned that any attempts to revive terrorism would be permanently eradicated from the Union Territory.

Shah also remarked that for the first time, the Lotus (BJP’s symbol) would bloom in Jammu and Kashmir. “The upcoming elections are between two forces,” he said, referencing the BJP’s adherence to the ideals of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He criticized Congress for opposing their fight against the concept of ‘2 Vidhaan and 2 Pradhan’ under Nehru’s leadership.

Amit Shah further warned voters that Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference manifesto includes plans to reconsider reservations. “They want to abolish reservations. Press the lotus button, and your reservations will remain intact!” he urged.

Shah expressed surprise at Congress’s current alliance with the Abdullah family, stating, “The same Congress that once labeled the Abdullah family as traitors and jailed Omar Abdullah’s grandfather is now embracing them to oppose Modi Ji.”
