New Delhi, November 20

The Delhi government has mandated that 50 percent of its staff work from home today as the national capital faces a severe air pollution crisis. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced the decision on social media, citing the urgent need to address rising pollution levels. Air pollution in Delhi-NCR has reached hazardous levels, with the AQI exceeding 450 in several areas. This has triggered Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), the highest level of response, aimed at mitigating the health risks associated with extreme pollution.

Rai  told the media that air quality in the city has shown slight improvement over the past two days, with a marginal decline in the Air Quality Index (AQI). However, he emphasized that the government remains focused on further reducing pollution.
