NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 26

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has conducted extensive search operations in five major cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh—in connection with the illegal resale of tickets for Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dilluminati” concert. Both events, highly anticipated by fans across India, saw official ticket sales on platforms like BookMyShow and Zomato Live sell out in minutes, which reportedly led to widespread black-market activity.

Following the quick sellout, reports emerged of fans being defrauded through the sale of counterfeit tickets or charged heavily inflated prices for genuine ones. Several complaints have been filed with the police nationwide, with one FIR from BookMyShow alleging that suspects exploited the surge in demand by selling fake tickets and drastically inflating prices.

The ED’s investigation, launched under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), included coordinated raids at over 13 locations on October 25. Officials seized mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards, and other materials allegedly used in the ticketing scams. The ED aims to dismantle the financial networks behind these illicit ticket sales and trace the “proceeds of crime” gained from such activities.

The investigation revealed that several individuals allegedly sold tickets through social media platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Further inquiries are ongoing as the ED examines these connections and seeks to prevent similar instances of fraud in the future.
