Afghanistan secured a historic win against South Africa on September 18. The South African team set a modest target of 106 runs in 33.3 overs. Despite early challenges, the Afghanistan team was able to make 107 in 26 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. This was their first ever ODI win against South Africa.
South Africa’s top scorer was Wiaan Mulder, who made 52 runs in 84 balls. However, Azmatullah Omarzai (25 not out) and Gulbadin Naib, who smashed 34 off just 27 balls, steadied the ship and guided Afghanistan home comfortably in 26 overs.
