Chandigarh, December 5
Punjab’s Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, along with Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, handed over real estate clearance certificates to 127 promoters and builders during a special camp in Chandigarh today. The initiative, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, aims to streamline the city’s urban development and resolve bottlenecks faced by developers.
This is the second such camp organized by the Punjab government, following one held in October, where 51 certificates were issued. Today’s camp saw the issuance of 127 certificates, covering a range of documents including licenses for colonies, zoning plans, and building plans. These efforts are part of the state’s commitment to boosting investment and promoting urban development.
Mundian emphasized the government’s focus on transparency and efficiency, ensuring that developers can access clearances without delay. He noted that future camps will continue to address the needs of promoters and developers, with an emphasis on hassle-free service. An email ID has been set up to address grievances, while improvements in public services at development authority counters are also underway.
The government has already conducted two e-auctions, generating ₹5,000 crore in revenue for the state’s development. Development projects worth ₹639 crore have been completed, with new projects valued at ₹283 crore being launched.
