India has consistently urged the Bangladesh government to address threats and targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that the interim government in Bangladesh must uphold its responsibility to ensure the safety and security of all minority groups.

“We are concerned about the surge in extremist rhetoric, increasing incidents of violence, and provocation. These developments cannot be dismissed as media exaggerations,” Jaiswal stated, adding that India has conveyed its concerns directly to Dhaka.

On the indictment of the Adani Group by the U.S. Department of Justice, the MEA clarified that it is a “legal matter involving private firms and individuals.”

Regarding the Indian cricket team’s travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, the MEA cited a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement, referring to “security issues” as a key concern.
