Sunil Jakhar, President of the BJP’s Punjab unit, on Tuesday held the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government responsible for what he termed a failure to secure seamless crop procurement across the state. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Jakhar pointed to smoother operations under the previous Capt. Amarinder Singh-led government, which he said effectively managed crop procurement even amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Jakhar alleged that the present government’s mismanagement has left farmers in disarray, with some reportedly pushed to suicide, while others endure baton charges from authorities, as seen in a recent incident at Raike Mandi. He called on the Chief Minister to either take immediate action to resolve the farmers’ grievances or step down. Jakhar also voiced disappointment over the opposition’s inaction, calling their silence on the issue “painful.”
