Dhule( Maharashtra), November 8
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, will never be reinstated, emphasizing that Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution will continue to prevail in the region. Addressing a rally in poll-bound Dhule, Maharashtra, Modi condemned the Congress party for its historical attempts to divide marginalized communities, including Dalits, backward classes, and tribals.
“The Congress has always opposed the progress of these communities and tried to weaken their unity,” Modi said. He highlighted how Jawaharlal Nehru resisted Dr. Ambedkar’s push for reservations for the oppressed, noting that even Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi opposed it after Nehru. “Their goal was to keep SC, ST, and OBC communities weak,” he added.
The Prime Minister also criticized Congress for attempting to divide tribal communities like the Bhils, Koknas, and Warlis, accusing the party of undermining their collective strength. “Their divisive agenda aims to destroy the unity of tribal communities,” Modi said, reaffirming his own commitment to unifying the nation under the slogan “Ek Hain toh Safe Hain!”
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s vision after Independence, Modi reiterated that Gandhi had foresaw Congress’s divisive nature, even suggesting the party dissolve. “Congress has always been part of anti-national conspiracies. A prime example is Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which separated it from the nation,” Modi remarked, celebrating the revocation of Article 370 as one of India’s greatest decisions. He further claimed that Congress is now conspiring to reinstate it.
In a significant mention, the Prime Minister praised Draupadi Murmu for becoming India’s first tribal woman President, despite efforts by Congress to discredit her.
Reflecting on Maharashtra’s political landscape, Modi criticized the previous Maha-Aghadi government for stalling development and fueling corruption. “The rule of the Maha-Aghadi blocked key projects like metro initiatives, Vadhavan Port, and the Samruddhi Mahamarg,” he said. However, he reassured the crowd that under the BJP-Mahayuti government, led by Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra has regained its pride and momentum.
Modi also discussed his government’s focus on empowering women, highlighting the Nari Shakti Vandan Act that ensures women’s reservation in assemblies and Parliament. He also emphasized recent steps to improve women’s safety and employment, including initiatives for recruitment and naming mothers on official documents. “When women progress, society advances,” Modi said, stressing his administration’s commitment to women’s advancement.
