New Delhi, November 4

The High Commission of India in Ottawa has expressed deep concern over a violent disruption outside a consular camp near Toronto on November 3. The event, co-organized with the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, aimed to assist applicants seeking routine consular services. The High Commission described the incident as orchestrated by anti-India elements and noted its disappointment that such disruptions were permitted.

The statement emphasized that the safety of applicants, including Indian nationals, was a priority, as these events are arranged in response to community demand. Despite the interference, the Indian Consulate managed to issue over 1,000 life certificates to both Indian and Canadian applicants.
