External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar stressed the necessity for a cohesive “whole of government” approach to bolster national security during the Army Commanders Conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. In a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, he remarked, “Pleased to address the Army Commanders Conference in Delhi today. Discussed the intricacies of current geopolitics, as well as its challenges, possibilities and opportunities. Urged that a more ‘whole of the Government’ approach is needed to effectively advance national security.”

He reviewed the current security environment and emphasized the importance of joint operations and integration among service branches. General Chauhan outlined a phased approach to full integration, starting with Cross-Service Cooperation, progressing towards a Joint Culture, and ultimately achieving complete operational integration in line with Vision 2047. He reiterated that modernization and strategic autonomy remain essential to ensure India’s preparedness for future challenges.
Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi also addressed the attendees, focusing on the rapidly shifting geopolitical, technological, and tactical landscapes. He highlighted the Indian Navy’s critical role in ensuring operational superiority, particularly in the Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific regions, and underscored its readiness to tackle maritime challenges that could affect land operations.
Additionally, the conference included discussions on welfare measures and financial security schemes for soldiers, veterans, and their families. Various Boards of Governors convened to deliberate on these pressing issues, aiming to enhance the quality of life for service personnel and their families.
