National digital platforms are crucial in transforming governance by enabling efficient, transparent, and secure systems, said Nilkanth S. Avhad, Principal Secretary of Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Punjab. Speaking at a workshop on CollabFiles, eTAAL, and the Gov.in Secure Intranet, he emphasized the role of these platforms in data-driven decision-making and improved public services.
The workshop, organized by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Department of Governance Reforms (DGR), Punjab, at MGSIPA, was attended by over 100 government officials. Avhad stressed the need for inter-departmental collaboration to unlock the full potential of these digital platforms, which can enhance service delivery, accountability, and public trust.
He praised NIC for its role in supporting digital infrastructure for government bodies, ensuring that platforms are equitable, secure, and transparent. Additional Secretary Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu and other officials also commended NIC’s efforts to drive digital initiatives in Punjab.
The workshop featured presentations and live demonstrations on platforms like CollabFiles and eTaal, highlighting their role in streamlining government operations and enhancing e-governance.
