Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Joe Biden held bilateral talks ahead of the Quad Summit, discussing key areas such as technology, defence, and security. The two leaders also reviewed the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed enthusiastically by the Indian diaspora in Delaware as he embarked on a three-day visit to the United States. Modi, who is set to participate in several high-level meetings, including the Quad Summit, expressed his admiration for the Indian community’s contributions in America.

“The Indian community has distinguished itself in the USA, making a positive impact across diverse sectors. It’s always a delight to interact with them,” Modi said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He added, “At around 9:30 PM India time on Sunday, 22nd September, I will address the @ModiandUS programme in New York City. Let’s celebrate the bonds that connect our nations!”

“Today, I’ll welcome Prime Ministers Albanese, Modi, and Kishida to my home: Delaware. These leaders aren’t just essential to ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific – they’re friends of mine and friends of our nation. I look forward to all we’ll accomplish in the Summit ahead,” Biden said in his post on X.

The Quad Summit, a strategic forum involving the leaders of the United States, India, Australia, and Japan, has become a pivotal platform for addressing security, economic, and development challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. The discussions are expected to center on promoting peace and stability in the area.
