The recruitment process to fill 2,700 posts in the health department is underway, with a focus on improving healthcare services, particularly for elderly citizens over 70, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He also announced plans to launch a scheme offering doorstep medical testing services for seniors. Additionally, the state is working to promote health tourism, leveraging its favorable climate, especially for tuberculosis (TB) patients.

Sukhu inaugurated a two-day National Task Force meeting under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme in Shimla on Wednesday, attended by TB experts from across India. He also launched the offline mode of the “Meri TB ki Kahani Phase-II” initiative, aimed at combating the stigma surrounding TB and raising awareness about the disease.
