20 industries collaborate with PSDM to generate 50K jobs: Aman Arora

The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has reached a significant milestone by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 20 industries and industry associations, opening the door to 50,000 job opportunities across the state. This announcement was made by Minister of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, Aman Arora, at the Chief Executive Officers (CxO) Meet-2024. The event was organized to foster collaboration among industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders. MoUs were signed with 20 industries, including the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), and industry associations from Mohali (SAS Nagar), Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Patiala.

During the event, Aman Arora digitally inaugurated 23 training centers accommodating 750 candidates across the state. He also honored 100 winners of the World Skills Competition with medals and certificates. While addressing the gathering, Arora stressed the importance of skill development in today’s job market, highlighting Punjab’s achievements in this area while acknowledging the need for continued progress. He urged industries to actively contribute to the mission of enhancing youth employability skills in Punjab.

The minister further assured that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, would fully support efforts to empower the youth and urged the industry to collaborate in refining the skills of young people in the state.
