AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Tuesday submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Atishi, has been named Delhi’s new Chief Minister by AAP legislative party meeting held in New Delhi today.   “I am happy that Arvind Kejriwal has shown so much trust in me, but more than that, I am sad because my elder brother Arvind Kejriwal is resigning today. On behalf of all AAP MLAs and the two crore people of Delhi, I want to say that Delhi has only one Chief Minister, and his name is Arvind Kejriwal,” said Atishi, who has been named Delhi’s new Chief Minister.

In a press conference in New Delhi, Atishi expressed deep gratitude after being appointed to the role, attributing her opportunity to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal. “This is possible only in AAP, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, that a first-time politician can become the Chief Minister of a state,” Atishi stated.

“I come from an ordinary family. Had I been in any other party, I might not have even been given an election ticket. But Arvind Kejriwal trusted me, made me an MLA and a minister, and now has given me the responsibility of the Chief Minister,” she added.
